Left in the Middle
The young won't remember
And the old will never forget
But for those in the middle
There may be regret. It's only when you've fallen
And you lift yourself again
As your limbs wobble beneaath
You begin to feel the pain. The young won't remember
They'll sail on as if before
And the old will never forget
Their century and more. But the rest must hunker down
Rebuild and carry on
For those left in the middle
The work has just begun.
